Child Sexual Behaviors: How to Respond in a Social Services Setting

This course will equip Social Workers with best practices for responding to reports of child sexual behaviors. By the end of this training, learners will be familiar with child sexual development and the difference between typical child sexual behaviors and problematic sexual behaviors. The following topics are included in this course:

  • How to assess child sexual behaviors
  • Understanding key components to effective treatment for problematic sexual behavior 
  • Steps to respond to child sexual behaviors in the social service setting
  • Steps to refer families to services
  • Resources and referrals

NCA partnered with the National Center on the Sexual Behavior of Youth to produce a free, two-hour video training series intended for CACs on addressing youth and children with sexual behavior problems. To the left is a trailer for the series and a link to access the training.
