Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.

Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Dakota Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC). In order to provide services free to families, the DCAC truly depends on the help of volunteers. Volunteers who contribute their unique talents, skills and knowledge to help restore hope, health and healing to children and their families are sincerely appreciated.

Even though most of our opportunities occur during office hours, 8:00 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday, there are a number of special events throughout the year that require evening or weekend help.

To become a volunteer, you must:

  • Complete an application and background check
  • Sign a confidentiality agreement
  • Attend volunteer orientation

Administrative Volunteer

Administrative volunteers help by organizing donations, decorating for holidays, creating bulletin boards and sanitizing toys.

Special Events Volunteer

The DCAC events wouldn’t be able to happen without the help of volunteers. Special events volunteers join event-planning committees and are needed the day of events to help with set up, registration and clean up. The DCAC also need volunteers for the Giving Tree Project during the holidays, which provides needed gifts for children seen at the DCAC, and the DCAC’s monthly sponsorship program, which is a donation program to provide snacks and other items for the children served at the DCAC.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at info@dakotacac.org or call (701) 323-5626 to set up a time to come in for a short visit and tour. A DCAC staff member will explain the various programs offered and help determine the best volunteer role for you.
