There are nearly 1.5 million military-connected children in the United States. Military families live in every state, in communities that are home to large military installations, and in communities far away frominstallations. When child maltreatment occurs in a military family, Department of Defense programs play a critical and often mandatory role. Military families require care that meets their unique needs, including coordination of Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) and Department of Defense (DoD)services. NCA has established seven memorandum ofunderstanding (MOUs) with Military Criminal InvestigativeOrganizations (MCIOs) and DoD Family Advocacy Programs (FAPs) to support CAC-military partnerships nationwide.
Participants will increase knowledge of
- The seven memorandums of understanding
- How CAC MDTs can support military families and work with military partner programs.
- Participants will learn about other opportunities for CAC-federal partnerships, including the NCA-FBI MOU
CEUs approved for social work, psychology and juvenile court officers. CLE’s approved for legal/judges. Post pending for law enforcement.
